Up until the nineteenth century, the Fens were an isolated place. The working people developed a rich culture of folk and magical traditions with included rural fraternities such as the Horsemen, Toad Men and Women and Bonemen, along with cunning men and witches. In Field and Fen is an exploration of this rich magical heritage with its secret rites and ceremonies.
